Scholarships for Academically Gifted Students Provide Opportunities in Grades K-12

STAMFORD, CT – The National Society for the Gifted & Talented (NSGT), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, is accepting applications for 90 free memberships and its general scholarship fund in an effort to honor and encourage gifted and talented children throughout the nation in grades K-12.

In a recent NSGT survey, many schools are not providing gifted programs for some three million gifted students nationwide in grades four through twelve alone, and therefore, not receiving the proper support or recognition. NSGT is committed to acknowledging and supporting the needs of gifted and talented children and youth by providing recognition in the form of a certificate, providing online resources through an extensive national listing of schools and gifted programs across the country, and a member directory for support.

The society also recognizes the need for parents to have online access and discounts to good and services directly related to home and school use. Parents can expect to find an online listing of top vendors such as publishers, mentoring and tutoring, a student version of the Renzulli Learning System, games, and much more. The society also solicits for its scholarship fund on an annual basis.

Parents are encouraged to apply online at www.nsgt.org. Student members will be notified upon receipt of their application and need based requirements.
